Dynamics 365 Business Central 24 is available
Following the recent release of version 24, here are some highlights we think may be of interest to you.
Microsoft continues to work on improving integrations between Business Central and their other cloud solutions. Some of these improvements involve better approval processes with Power Automate and more table and field mappings within existing integration tables.
An integration between Dynamics 365 Sales Service and Business Central is now available. This is worth mentioning as it now enables consumption of items and services in Field Service work orders. This consumption is then updated to a project (job) in BC and data can be used to generate an invoice from your projects and project tasks.
Talking about projects. Numerous functional improvements are included in this new release, but many of those improve project management. Here are a some that have caught our attention:
- The ability to archive projects.
- The ability to create Assembly Orders from project planning lines.
- The ability to invoice a customer for multiple projects or invoice a project to multiple customers.
- Streamlined timesheet processes.
It won’t come as a surprise that Co-Pilot’s footprint within Business Central is now increased. This month, you will be able to chat with Co-Pilot to get help on functionality or find data. You will also have the ability to ask Co-Pilot for suggestions when generating sales lines. These features, however, will not be available in Canada. Might it be because co-Pilot only speaks English? Or could it be related to some country-specific regulations? We’ll keep an eye on this in 2024.
Before we go, we also want to mention improvements to the Shopify connector, including new features for Shopify B2B. Also, in May, you should be able to use drag and drop to attach multiple files in Business Central.

Please don’t hesitate to write if you have questions or comments.

Sylvain.
