Dynamics 365 Business Central 26 Wave 1 is available
Microsoft’s latest update to Business Central (version 26 – 2026 Release Wave 1) continues to evolve the ERP into a smarter, more connected, and more intuitive platform. This release provides improvements on Copilot Agentic AI, ecommerce, finance, reporting and logistics, among others.
Agentic AI
As you may already know, the new AP Agent was recently released. Moreover, among the various new improvements made to support Copilot in Business Central, we feel the new in-product experience for designing agents that automate Business Central processes is one of the most significant. This is made available via the AI Development Toolkit for Business Central.
Ecommerce
Some new features are added to the Shopify connector, such as exporting item attributes as product options or syncing images of item variants.
Finance
The most significant new feature not related to AI, in our opinion, is the new Expense Report functionality. Users can now create expense reports for various categories including per diem and mileage. We suspect we need to extend this functionality to support local fiscal requirements and Vokeso will be looking into this.
Approval Workflows will be included in this Expense Management module.
Reporting
Some built-in reports were improved or added to Business Central. New PowerBI reports pertaining to customer loyalty and subcontracting also come with this new release.
Logistics
Multiple improvements are included in this new version affecting purchasing, receiving, drop shipments and manufacturing, among others.
A new Quality Management downloadable extension available on AppSource provides, at last, standard quality functionality to Business Central.
