Flexible Deployment
3 options: On-Premise, SaaS Microsoft and Vokeso Azure
First, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central infrastructure can be deployed either on the customer’s local infrastructure or on the Cloud. Hosting can be obtained on Microsoft servers or on Vokeso’s Azure infrastructure.
Also, two types of licenses are available for Business Central: perpetual or SaaS (Software as a Service). The following table presents a summary of the different deployment and hosting options available:

OPTION DESCRIPTIONS
On-premise Deployment + perpetual license
If the organization’s current infrastructure is up to date and planned for the long-term, deploying the solution locally is an excellent option to save on software costs while maintaining direct access to the underlying SQL Server database. This data access allows a deeper and more complex business intelligence analysis with Power BI. Software updates are manually scheduled and performed and the frequency is determined by you. An on-premises deployment may prove preferable for complex environments comprising multiple integrations or other technical challenges.
Microsoft Cloud + SaaS
The SaaS option hosted by Microsoft is at the other end of the spectrum. Software updates are automatic. This infrastructure is entirely managed by Microsoft, however the inconvenience is that only web services can be used to make requests to the solution. This can limit the potential for advanced business intelligence. In addition, some partner add-ons may not available for this type of infrastructure and additional capacity may need to be purchased for larger databases. Some services are only available in this mode or require additional configurations to work on-premises.
Vokeso’s Azure Cloud
Finally, Vokeso’s Azure hosting infrastructure is the best of both worlds. A data warehouse is available, and the client benefits from the peace of mind that comes with managed infrastructure services.
In addition, there is no restriction on the type of license required to deploy Business Central on Vokeso’s Azure cloud hosting service. The company, therefore, benefits from greater freedom to acquire perpetual licenses or opt for the SaaS (Software as a Service) model.

FAQ
Why is it useful to have access to SQL data?
Access to SQL data is particularly useful when an error occurs. Indeed, the Vokeso support team can intervene as soon as the problem occurs by accessing the SQL data in order to fix the issue as soon as possible. With the Microsoft cloud, SQL data cannot be accessed.
What are the benefits of full debugging features?
Being able to execute the code in full debugging mode allows a programmer to see what happens one line at a time, explore variables and eventually identify the reason behind a bug or problem.
Does SaaS offer greater payment flexibility?
Yes, subscription licenses (SaaS) are valid for a period of one (1) month and can be cancelled at the end of the monthly cycle without any penalty – SaaS licenses therefore allow much more payment flexibility.
Is Business Central Online – Microsoft Cloud – available worldwide?
No, not yet… In fact, deployment on the Microsoft cloud is possible in over 70 countries and regions around the world. Although global availability tends to expand each year, Dynamics 365 Business Central Online may not yet be available for your area, such as some regions in the Caribbean.
