Copilot and Business Central
We are back writing blogs after a three-month hiatus. Busy summer here at Vokeso, and not just with vacation.
This month we will discuss Artificial Intelligence and Business Central. As you may know, AI relies heavily on data to decipher trends, predict tendencies and even make recommendations. What better place to find data than an ERP system?
The more transactions you process through Business Central, the more information Copilot can leverage to perform various tasks. We can already interact with Copilot and ask it to find information, explain features or answer some questions, as we can see in the below dialog box:

Copilot can also generate a summary whenever you open a customer, vendor or item file, among others.

Other AI features have been available for some time now, whether released or in preview. Some of these help you draft B2B marketing descriptions for items, predict sales invoice payment date, forecast cashflow and reconciliate banking records.
Microsoft is also working on various Copilot agents to help you with your tasks. We can currently preview the Sales Order Agent in Canada and soon we will also have access to a Payables Agent, which is currently in preview in the USA.
The Sales Order Agent automates the entire flow of capturing sales orders from emails. It will be available in the upcoming October 2025 release and will parse emails, identify the customer, automatically create a quote while checking inventory levels.
The Copilot Payables Agent in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central automates the end-to-end processing of vendor invoices, from email intake to invoice posting. When it is released, it will capture vendor invoice information, create a purchase invoice in BC, match the invoice to its original purchase order while helping with the three-way match process, handle approval workflows and payment scheduling.
It is also expected to handle errors, such as a missing PO number or mismatched amounts and that is a big deal.
I opine that Copilot will greatly enhance Business Central over the coming years and will even allow us, combining voice recognition with AI, to converse with it and be directed by our vocal commands.
Please don’t hesitate to write if you have questions or comments.
Cordially,
Sylvain.
