Will soon be available...
Dynamics 365 Business Central 25 Wave 1
This new major release of Business Central 25 will be coming out this April. As is often the case, there may be various improvements and micro-releases between this release and the second major update in the fall. This new version, it’s no surprise, focuses on AI and Automation. There will also be significant improvements in Reporting & Analytics as well as Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
Here are some highlights we think may be of interest to you.
Various Copilot features will be available between April and September 2025. One of them that caught our attention is using the Copilot Payables Agent to automate payables processes. This was previously accomplished using ISV solutions. Expect the public preview of this feature in September.
Moreover, the Sales Order Agent, generally available in June, will introduce automation of sales order-taking.
Also, Copilot will be able to summarize record information for an Item, Customer or Sales Order as early as April 2025. This summary information will be displayed in a Factbox.
Effort was also applied to improve reporting & analytics by introducing editable Excel layouts, leveraging PowerBI apps in certain areas, introducing new PDF features and various new capabilities in Financial Reports (formerly Account Schedules), to name a few.
Various Supply Chain features are being introduced such as reopening a finished production order, enabling over picking for production orders, cancelling a production order that has consumption, handling production output with warehouse put-aways, allowing multiple people to post inventory at the same time, improving accuracy in manufacturing costing, receiving project items with receipts or put-aways, and more.
Multiple technical improvements are being introduced to make developers more productive, and empower consultants, citizen developers, and users to do more while lowering the cost of changes.
Additional investments have also been made on the Shopify connector.
