We always aim to mitigate the risks in a project and a simple means of accomplishing this goal is to manage its scope, step by step.

You must have heard about the Agile methodology. It is an approach to developing software by many editors, among them Microsoft, that consists in promoting smaller timelines and circumscribed deliverables that must be completed before moving forward. Which makes you think that this is quite the opposite of what is happening in Montreal under construction!

Therefore, at a larger scale, think about you ERp solution in terms of modules or functionality and, if possible, take some time to deploy them one at a time.

You will handle shorter projects, easier to manage, and you will be in a better position to maintain momentum. The cultural impact on the organization will be reduced, change management made simpler, and you will be able to celebrate a win sooner.
